Thanks for the users who helped me find the problem.  The new version should be in the store early next week.  Then hopefully I can start working on the universal app.

What’s New in this Version

If you’ve experienced crashes, please drop me a line here.  I’d like to make sure I have every case covered.  Better yet, what would really be helpful is if you could send me the crash report.

Crash reports are files that get saved on your phone whenever an app crashes.  These files eventually get synced over to your computer.  You can find them in the locations below

• Mac OS X :~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>
• WindowsXP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/<DEVICE_NAME>
• WindowsVista/7: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>

The’ll have iQueue in the name and end with .crash.

Update (12:17AM CDT):  Update is that there is no update.  It’s now 6/14 in CDT.  Nothing from @netflixhelps on twitter and nothing on the Netflix Developer page. Good night.  (if you haven’t, go ahead and download iQueue.  It’ll work tomorrow… I think)

Update 2 (7:30 AM CDT):  Things seem to be up and running. If you tried to install the app on last night and had problems, please delete, redownload and try again (you won’t be charged again).

1. TV series in an instant queue don’t seem to want to move (in fact, they get reordered to the bottom of the queue)
2. There is no easy way to add individual seasons to a DVD queue.  This seems to be a byproduct of Netflix changing the way they handle TV series (and in general, making things dealing with DVDs difficult).

It also includes twitter, facebook and email sharing of movies.

TV series (finding and adding) is still problematic.  I’m trying to get Netflix to fix this.

PLEASE rate, or re-rate the app.

BTW, to “MabNC” who wrote:

The reorder function doesn’t seem to work. Also when I add a movie it goes automatically to the top, I get no option to put it to the top or bottom, then the queue doesn’t refresh and accurately to display the queue order.

This is all fixed in version 1.9, and check the settings menu.

I wish Apple give developers the option to reply to comments in the app store.

The iQueue (paid) version should be in the store in the next couple of days.

There might be a new version of both in a couple of weeks with a new icon.  I assume there will also be a few more fixes I’ll have to make, as the Netflix API is still a mess.

1. I get and error when trying to first login (“Can’t access so and so queue.  Netflix server error”).  Netflix server errors are usually temporary.  Most everyone I’ve talked to has been able to delete the app, re-download it (won’t get charged again if it’s the 99 cent version) and start again.  If that doesn’t work, try rebooting the phone.
2. I get an error when I first login, but my queues do show up (“redirect error”).  This is a known issue and should be fixed by Netflix soon.  It shouldn’t affect anything.
3. How do I move movies?  Click the “Reorder” button on the upper right.  Drag movies around by the 3 gray bars on the right of the movie.
4. How do I delete movies?  There are a couple of ways.  You can swipe on a movie (side to side), then press the delete button that shows up.  Or, you can press the edit button press the red dot on the left of the movie.
5. I added a movie, but I don’t see it in my queue!  This is a relatively new issue.  Wait about 30 seconds and it’ll show up.  Closing and opening the app will force the queue to reload.
6. I moved a movie, but it moved back!  See #5.
7. How do I add a Blu-Ray disc?  BluRay will be automatically chosen if that’s your preferred format, and BluRay is available.  In the future, I’ll add the little BD icon next to the movie.

Here are the issue I am currently aware of:

1. Netflix isn’t redirecting to the proper web page after authentication.  As result, you’ll see something like a “redirect” error after first logging in.  This is ok for iQueue, though it might affect some other Netflix related apps and web sites.  (update 4/13:  sounds lie Netflix is on this one)
2. reordering the instant queue isn’t working.  It broke a few weeks ago, so I removed the feature.  It started working again, only to stop working yesterday (update:  seems to be working on 4/13).
3. This one is annoying, but I might have to live with it:  Doing anything to a queue now takes about 30 seconds.  It used to take maybe a couple of seconds.  This is especially annoying when adding a movie, and not seeing it on the queue right away.  I’m trying to figure out how to keep the local copy of the queue in sync with Netflix, without refreshing Netflix’ copy like I currently do. (update:  this only seems to be problem with the DVD queue.  For now, just give any DVD adds and moves time to “settle”)
4. I’m hoping this is just temporary, but I don’t seem to be able to add a movie to the DVD queue (!!!!).  Netflix tells me it worked, but nothing shows up (it even tells me it’s in my queue if I add it later).  It’s odd that adding to the instant queue seems to work. *sigh*  (update:  turns out it just took a REALLY long time that particular instance)
